When a problem lingers, it’s because what usually works for you isn’t working anymore. When the thing you could do to solve it rests outside your comfort zone, you procrastinate.
If what you typically do isn’t working, and what you believe you should do isn’t effective (because you are not doing it), what options do you have to address your pressing problem?
Plan, Do, Socialize, or Recharge.
- One of these, you are known for, but it is failing you. Drop it.
- One of these, scare you, so you procrastinate. Ignore it for now.
- One of these, you’ve never considered. Start considering it this time.
- One sounds like an intriguing idea. Give it a try.
You need a pattern interrupt in your thinking. The status quo does not work and acting outside your comfort zone is too threatening. Choose between the other two and a fresh solution will unexpectedly appear.
