Hi, I’m Karl Bimshas,
owner of Karl Bimshas Consulting, the leadership development and accountability firm that helps entrepreneurs and executives who want to manage well and lead better, so they act on purpose, not by accident.
I work with busy professionals who are:
- Open to outside input, comfortable with partnerships, and are ready to make changes,
- Facing change or are in transition,
- Creative but feel stuck and need help to start or finish their project,
- Thinking about starting their own business, or those looking to build their existing independent business,
- Learners who are devoted to personal development and continuous improvement for themselves and their organization.
What and Why
In 2009, I founded a leadership development and accountability consulting firm for busy professionals who want to dramatically improve how they lead without having to sit through a lot of B.S.
Each organization
has a unique culture, so it stands to reason that not every solution offered in a book or seminar is going to work equally well, if at all. Most professionals do an okay job revisiting their vision, mission, and values, but few incorporate them into day-to-day operations. I thought they needed a system that contained a set of tools, instruments, models, and ways of thinking. A methodology that collected universal management truisms, took advantage of trends and technology changes and then customized them in a way that worked in the leader’s current environment. I created the skeleton for that and named it The Leadership Guidance System.
Leadership has not changed
much over thousands of years of practice. Despite modern interpretations of the ancient teachings of the Stoics, religious texts, Zun Tzu’s Art of War, or even the works of Machiavelli, busy managers today are challenged to take the time to relearn the unwavering fundamentals and discern which principles apply to them and their particular situation. Like a sommelier pairing wine with food, I founded my company to help professionals match the most appropriate leadership styles with their unique circumstance so they can achieve the best results for their employees, customers, financial bottom line, and themselves.
You know that feeling you may have had when you worked for a lousy boss? I make sure people never feel that way about you.
Typically, clients come to me because they have experienced success in their personal and professional lives, but feel frustrated, stuck, or maybe even disheartened in a specific area they know is holding them back.
A Few Things
I have an M.S. in Executive Leadership from the University of San Diego and a B.A. in Mass Communication from Emerson College in Boston. I’ve held several operational and sales leadership positions in public and private corporations focused on creating success measures and performance improvement. I’ve written several business books, inspirational programs, and novels.
I have a thirst for making a difference by helping leaders dramatically improve their outlook and effectiveness. I am happiest when I can lead and inspire others to maximize their strengths, look at things differently, and continuously improve their condition by applying clear vision, passion, and action to each endeavor, so that they may advance confidently in the direction of their dreams.
Things You Should Know
I have a strong irritation with and a low tolerance for, poor leadership decisions, be they my own or made by others. I am driven by a compulsion to disrupt, dismantle and destroy the practice of lousy leadership.
I ask two questions equally often, “Why?” and “Why not?” Also, because of a sometimes maddening quest for continuous improvement, to make good things great things, I measure success, not failure. I test assumptions, tasks, and decisions against publicly stated visions or objectives. I am interested in your strengths, not irrelevant weaknesses. My abundance mentality will push you to explore possibilities and discover the aha within.
