Excuse my laughter, but when someone refers to themselves as the “leader,” “alpha,” or “big dog” of the group, they aren’t.
Good leaders don’t use their role to try to impress or cajole — but lousy leaders do.
All. The. Time.
And, they think people believe them.
Some buy the bravado, but most just want the blowhard to leave.
Are they in charge?
Maybe on paper.
Maybe they have positional authority.
But they’re not the leader.
Effective leaders don’t have that kind of insecurity.
